With various road construction projects going on in Cincinnati, the city is helping drivers find their way through the maze.
Cincinnati is using social media and the web in this effort. City officials have created a website called RoadmapCincy, which can help drivers find their way through the construction that is being undertaken on the riverfront, in the downtown, and in the Over-the-Rhine areas of the city.
Those who access RoadmapCincy will find a number of helpful items, including maps and routes that can be used as detours. The site also provides news about the various projects that result in additional construction. Drivers and others can access RoadmapCincy through a variety of means, including via Facebook and Twitter on their cellphones, desktop and laptop computers, and other mobile devices.
Harry Black, the city's manager, says the ongoing construction projects are Signs of Cincinnati's growth, which is a positive development. However, he also recognizes that pedestrians as well as motorists can be confused and frustrated by traffic delays and unexpected detours, so he wants to help solve problems before they arise.
In order to reach out to those without a computer or access to the Internet, the city might consider working with a flyer printing company to duplicate the information on the site, and mail it to residents.Get a Free Quote for Signs
