A major event is coming up that will bring 18 bands to Cincinnati.
The Ohio is for Lovers Festival 2022 will take place at the Riverbend Music Center, with 18 bands scheduled to perform. The current line-up is Mint Green, Crimson Apple, The Dopamines, Holding Absence, Knuckle Puck, Emery, Real Friends, Bayside, The Wonder Years, Descendents, The Amity Affliction, Hawthorne Heights, Story of the Year, Senses Fail, Motion City Soundtrack, Silverstein, New Found Glory, and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
The bands generally fall into the rock, pop, emo, or pop-rock genres, with some metal mixed in, and are coming from throughout the United States, and as far away as Australia.
For instance, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus got started in Jacksonville, Florida in 2003, and are known for their screamo and emo-pop sounds. Virgin signed them in 2005, and they dropped “Don’t You Fake It,” their debut LP, the next year. The album sold more than 500,000 Copies, winning Gold Status and increasing their fan base.
The Amityville Affliction is from Queensland, Australia, and is a metalcore band that first got together in 2003. The five-piece outfit Silverstein is from Ontario, Canada, and is recognized as post-hardcore. Minneapolis, Minnesota, is the home base for Motion City Soundtrack, who have been rocking fans since 1997, and other bands have similar stories.
The festival takes place September 10 at Riverbend Music Center. When events like this feature so many performers, organizers can use brochure printing to create programs for audiences.
