What's Happening in Cincinnati, OH…

A group known for their moving ballads and rich harmony, and their a capella singing, is coming to Cincinnati.

Boyz II Men was founded in 1985 in Philadelphia and initially called themselves Unique Attraction. The founders included Marc Nelson, Nathan Morris, Marguerite Walker, Jon Shoats, and George Baldi. Two years later, Wanyá Morris (no relation to Nathan) joined, but Walker, Shoats, and Baldi left in 1988, after graduating. However, that year Shawn Stockman came aboard, and Michael McCary also joined, becoming the final member of the group. Each musician contributed their unique talent to their sound, a close harmony.

Their initial entrance into the music business came shortly after they graduated from high school, when they managed to perform in front of Michael Bivins, a founding member of Bell Biv Devoe and New Edition. He helped the group get a contract with Motown Records, but Marc Nelson left before recording began. When the group began their climb to international stardom, the members were Shawn Stockman, Wanyá Morris, Nathan Morris, and Michael McCary.

All four artists rotated as lead vocalist, an unusual technique that became their trademark. Their debut album, 1991’s “Cooleyhighharmony,” was a smash, earning a 9x Platinum rating from the RIAA. They have sold about 25 million albums throughout the world, performing genres including Soul, R&B, and Pop.

Boyz II Men will be at the Cincinnati Music Hall on September 16. Using poster printing, venues organizing shows like this can successfully promote them.
