Crafts on the calendar for June

Cincinnati crafters looking for intriguing projects can check out One Night One Craft at the Creative Arts Center of Cincinnati (CAC) throughout the month.

The summer program is a series of adults-only, two-hour crafting classes. Admission is free, but participants pay for their materials, which are supplied. Classes run the gamut from calligraphy, to making jewelry from hardware, to making dairy products at home.

The program is already up and running, but there are plenty of classes still to come. Attendees need to buy tickets in advance, and they are available on the Creative Arts Center website. The center is on 6th Street in Cincinnati and all classes run from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Upcoming June classes include ‘Mason Jar Madness’ on June 9, with Danny Korman explaining canning and Adrian Hawk using the jars in craft projects. June 16 brings ‘Hardware Store Jewelry’, in which jewelry designer Mel Kasey shows attendees how to create pieces from industrial material. On June 19, Chef Trinidad Mac-Aulliffe will demonstrate how to work with raw foods in his ‘Creative Table’ class. On June 26, participants will learn how to create projects using bleach as a dye, and the last class of the month is ‘Silhouettes’, to be held on June 30.

The CAC could work with a poster printing company to create attractive Posters inviting people to take part in the summer fun.
