What's Happening in Cincinnati, OH…

Cincinnati will be movie location once again

A new film is due to film in Cincinnati soon, as Todd Haynes returns to the city to make ‘Dry Run’.

Haynes shot in the Queen City in 2015 when he directed ‘Carol’ here. During the last summer, ‘Point Blank’ and ‘Reprisal’ were also filmed in Cincinnati.

Dry Run considers the actions of Rob Bilott, a corporate defense attorney who fought DuPont Chemical early in the 2000s and, according to Cincinnati.com, exposed the company for participating in a cover-up of chemical pollution that had been going on for decades.

Haynes is basing his film on an article that appeared in the New York Times Magazine. The piece, entitled ‘The Lawyer Who Became DuPont's Worst Nightmare’, showed how Bilott's suit expanded into a huge class-action lawsuit. Bilott took the case of a farmer whose cows were dying, and discovered that DuPont had dumped perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) into the water around Parkersburg, West Virginia, knowing it was harmful.

‘Dry Run’ needs extras, and those who are interested are urged to send an email to dryrunextras@gmail.com, along with their name, two photos, sizes, and contact information.

Focus Features produced Carol, and has scheduled Dry Run for a 2019 release. However, it has not announced a start date for the shoot. Organizers of this type of event can use flyer printing to help point out road closures and detours made necessary by the film crews.
