Cincinnati to host wine festival

Wine lovers have an event to savor coming up: the Duke Energy Convention Center will be the site of the 26th Cincinnati International Wine Festival.

More than 100 wineries from all over the world will bring more than 700 of their wines to Cincinnati so that visitors can have a taste. There will be food and live music as well.

The festival is a non-profit, charitable organization that was founded in 1991, with the mission of promoting the wine industry, and at the same time, raising funds for charities in the local area. The festival has grown in size every year since its founding, enabling the organization to add more wineries and events. The proceeds go to programs in the Greater Cincinnati area that support education, the arts, and health and human services.

The festival comprises four different events: the Grand Tastings, the Winery Dinners, the Russ Wiles memorial Golf tournament, and the Charity Auction & Luncheon. Over the past 25 years, the festival has raised more than $4.6 million for local causes.

The Wine Festival is scheduled for March 3-5, 2016, with different hours and prices available for different tastings. Details are available on the event website but all events are in the afternoons and evenings.

Event organizers might create festive Banners to hang throughout the convention hotel to add to the fun.
