The holidays are on the way, and so are special events and concerts, including evenings for people who like to rock.
Waterparks, a rock band originally from Houston, is on the way to Cincinnati. The group formed in 2011, founded by Awsten Knight and Gage Matthieu. Since their inception, the band has taken part in a number of tours, including the 2016 Black Cat Tour, in which they supported Never Shout Never; and the End the Madness Tour later that same year, in which they supported Sleeping with Sirens. They have also toured in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The band has released several studio albums, as well as EPs and singles. In 2017, Waterparks was nominated for the Alternative Press Music Awards in three categories; Song of the Year, Album of the Year; and Best Breakthrough Artist; and won for Best Breakthrough Artist. They also won Best International Breakthrough Artist that year from The Rock Sound Awards.
Awsten Knight, Waterparks' frontman, characterizes the group as a mostly pop-punk band, with elements of alternative rock, electropop, pop rock, and to a lesser degree, jazz, punk, indie, electronic, and hip-hop music. A review of a recent concert calls the evening “high powered and intense.”
Waterparks will appear December 1 at Bogart's, starting at 6:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now, and poster printing is often used to create advertising for events like this.
