Brewery in Cincinnati nears expansion completion

Brink Brewing Co., a small craft brewery in College Hill in Cincinnati, is close to completing its expansion project.

Brink is finishing the installation of its own barrel-aging room and canning line as part of its new production space as well as an expanded patio for guests. The brewery is on Hamilton Avenue and currently spans 3,200 square feet. It purchased the building next door which has enabled it to grow an additional 2,400 square feet.

Founder and director of operations at Brink, Andrew McCleese, said that the original plan to open the production facility in another location outside of the neighborhood. He started renting the space next door for storage and once he was approached with the opportunity to purchase the space he decided to do so in September 2023 and began construction the following month.

Last year only 30 percent of the brewery’s inventory was produced in-house. It has a contract brewing partnership with Impact Brewing. Once the expansion is completed, the brewery will be able to produce 85 percent of its products in-house.

Such news can be spread throughout a neighborhood and a city with flyer printing.

There are currently three full-time employees and around 14 part-time employees at Brink. McCleese plans to hire one additional person once the expansion is done. The work on the expansion is expected to be completed next month.
