Sweet event in Centerville

Amateur bakers, fans of cooking shows, and foodies have an event just for them coming up.

Rachel, of Rachel Bakes & Co., will be the instructor of a class on how to build and ice a two-layer cake, as well several different methods of icing cupcakes, basic piping methods on a cake top, and finally, how to create basic borders for use on cakes. The baking supplies will be provided, and students will be able to take the left-over ingredients home.

The event will be held at Rachel Bakes & Co, which relocated to Centerville in September. Rachel has baked elaborate wedding cakes, some with as many as seven layers, in beautiful colors and with an array of designs from traditional to modern. She has also baked a variety of cakes for children’s events, birthdays, baby showers, holidays, and anniversaries.

The event is open only to those who are 15 or older, and although no experience is necessary, it will be helpful. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own drinks, although there will be light snacks at the venue.

The class is scheduled for November 11 from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm. The venue is Rachel Bakes & Co at 101 East Alex Bell Road #104C in Centerville, and the fee is $68. Organizers of events like these can make them more enjoyable by using flyer printing to create instruction sheets for attendees to use during the evening.
