Spooky fun for all in Centerville

An upcoming event will offer some spinetingling entertainment for the entire family.

The upcoming Halloween Hop & Howl will take place in Forest Field Park on East Centerville Station Road. Families and friends are encouraged to wear costumes and enjoy a leisurely stroll along a marked path. There will be themed Signs at various points along the way indicating stations where children can collect treats. Free tickets for Kona Ice will be given to the first 100 participants, though the giveaway depends on the weather.

The event is a “teal pumpkin” outing, and everyone is asked to bring their own Bags to collect goodies. All the treats to be distributed will be allergy friendly. The “teal pumpkin” refers to the Teal Pumpkin Project, which makes it safe for children with allergies to enjoy trick-or-treating. People taking part in this effort put a teal pumpkin out, indicating they have non-food items that are safe for children with allergies.

The Hop & Howl is scheduled for Thursday, October 5, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. People who are registering for the first time should create an account and list Dayton as their residence, as the system will not accept either Washington Township or Centerville as a valid registration. People who are already in the system need not register again.

When events like this are set up, organizers can work with banner printing companies to create Signs and Banners that indicate the route people are to follow.
