Upcoming events in Centerville are based on the works of a local author, and should be fun for everyone.
Steve Stegelin created a comic called “Cryptids Together,” in which a group of cryptids—creatures that are believed to exist but have never had their existence verified scientifically—meet in a group therapy session to explore their issues. Familiar cryptids include Bigfoot, the Mothman, and the Loch Ness Monster.
Two of the members of the group are Grassman, Ohio’s version of Bigfoot, and the Crosswick Snake. The latter has challenged his companion to spend time at Bill Yeck Park, where they will play hide and seek. Humans are also invited to play by scanning QR Codes that will be displayed along the route of the hike. The codes will register the participant’s vote and enter them into a raffle to win a basket full of monster prizes.
The event runs for several weeks, but the opening night brings a special treat. The comic was published by the Cincinnati Cabinet of Curiosities, and the anthology’s illustrator and editor, Kat Klockow, will be at the event to tell stories of her experiences as an author of haunted history.
The hide and seek is set for October 1 at 8.00 am at the Smith House in Bill Yeck Park. Klockow will be at the same location from 6.00 pm until 8.00 pm that evening. When outdoor events like these are planned, the organizers can make use of banner printing to create directional signage.Get a Free Quote for QR Codes
