Delicious event in Centerville

Wine-pairing dinners are becoming increasingly popular as people learn which wines and food go together, and Centerville will be the latest area to offer this to locals.

Centerville residents have a chance to take a “Journey to Buenos Aires” and enjoy the wines that go well with dishes from the capital of Argentina. The wine of the month, which the event will highlight, is a Bonarda Malbec, and each course will be paired with an appropriate vintage.

The evening starts with a Pisco Sour cocktail. The first course is grilled flatbread with whipped butter and Chimichurri Roja (red chimichurri sauce). Next up is a ceviche made of shrimp and tuna with pickled red onion, cucumber, and crushed avocado, along with Salsa da Maracuya y Lima, a hot sauce made of passion fruit. The wine is Sauvignon Blanc.

The main course is a beef short rib locro, a traditional Argentinean stew made with butternut squash, garlic spinach, spicy sausage, bacon, and sweet corn. This course will be paired with Bonarda Malbec.

Dessert is a Chocolate Hazelnut Alfajor Cake Valrhona, served with dulce de leche cream and caramel ganache. The wine for this course is Nightjar.

The dinner is scheduled for April 15 at the Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant location in Centerville, 5220 Cornerstone North Boulevard. When events like this are planned, organizers often work with flyer printing to create Menus for diners.
