An upcoming event at a popular chain restaurant will bring people together for a special meal.
The Centerville location of Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants has scheduled a wine pairing dinner to acknowledge those who celebrate Friendsgiving. The term came into common use in 2007 and indicates a Thanksgiving-style meal attended by those who are by themselves at the holiday.
The Cooper’s Hawk version is Friendsgiving in Wine Country, featuring California cuisine and the restaurant’s Gewurztraminer Riesling Blend. The evening begins with a Spiced Cranberry Spritz, along with rolls made with aged cheddar and drizzled with applewood bacon-honey.
The next course is grilled jumbo shrimp along with a Sonoma garden salad with radish, carrots, fennel, balsamic-roasted red onions, greens, crushed almonds, sourdough croutons, and goat cheese, with a lemon vinaigrette dressing. The wine with this course is the Riesling Gewurztraminer.
Following the salad is a bread pudding made with chicken sausage and chestnuts, served with roasted carrots, pumpkin seeds, garlic spinach, and a black truffle jus. The wine is Lux Pinot Noir.
Dessert is a banana toffee pudding cake with caramel sauce and vanilla cream. Ice wine will be served.
Friendsgiving in Wine Country is scheduled for November 15, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. People will be seated with other guests they may not know in order to encourage social interaction. The restaurant is at 5220 Cornerstone North Boulevard in Centerville. Organizers of events like this can use brochure printing to create festive Menus for the occasion.
