Centerville kicks off the holidays

Centerville is planning a weekend full of special events to get the holidays off to a great start.

The City of Centerville is presenting its Uptown Holiday Weekend, which will feature various events taking place along Main Steet, in Uptown Centerville, and more.

The Town Hall Theater will present “An Uptown Holiday Concert,” featuring area musicians including The Brockman Brothers, Alexis Gomez, and the Hauer Swing Band.

The theater is at 27 North Main Street, and there will be two performances, at 5.00 pm, and 8.30 pm, and tickets are $10.00.

A holiday walk is also on the schedule, and will take place in Benham’s Grove and Uptown.

Twenty local vendors will gather under a tent in Benham’s Grove, and they will be available from 1.00 pm until 5.00 pm, giving shoppers a chance to get holiday gifts.

That same day, people will be able to ride in horse-drawn carriages, which are located at the Asahel Wright House at 26 North Main Street, from 1.00 pm until 4.00 pm. Santa will be at the Town Hall Theater waiting to welcome the kids.

That evening, the mayor will host the Tree Lighting at 5.30 pm, with performances by the Miami Valley Dance Company, Centerville Community Chorus, the Centerville Community Band, and Anna and Elsa from Disney’s Frozen.

The Holiday Concert is November 17, and the walk, carriage rides, and Santa’s activities take place November 19. When community activities like this are planned, organizers could use banner printing to create informative outdoor decorations for the venue.
