Walkers to raise funds and awareness this weekend

All people in the area are invited to get a little exercise in a couple of days’ time to support Long Island families.

This 7th annual Contractors for Kids 5K is open to people of all ages, and offers a quarter-mile fun run for kids, as well as an adults’ 5K walk/run.

The Contractors for Kids group may have used some local digital flyer printing services to encourage people in this community and the surrounding areas to participate in this year’s walk.

Proceeds from the walk will be donated to a local family with a young son inflicted with a rare genetic defect called Epileptic Encephalopathy. It will help raise funds to pay for the child’s medication and care, while also raising awareness about the defect.

This event is being sponsored by the Three Village CSD, and there is also a Health and Wellness Fair with many vendors and information booths after the walk.

The 7th Annual 5K walk/run and Health and Wellness Fair will be happening on Saturday, April 26 beginning at 7:30 am at the Ward Melville High School located at 380 Old Town Road East in Setauket, New York, close to Smithtown. Registration takes place at 7:30 am on the day.

For additional information, such as the different fees for taking part, visit the Three Village CSD website.
