Stony Brook Medicine’s Mall Walkers Club is offering an exercise program, currently recruiting members who may be interested in working out.
At this club, taking the first step could be a challenge for newcomers who are in the midst of figuring out their exercise routine. This program will provide an indoor environment for members who prefer to walk, citing it as a low-risk, low-impact type of aerobic exercise, which will gradually strengthen one’s heart and lungs as they move their bodies.
Members of the Mall Walkers Club will receive a weatherproof gym, featuring good lighting, a stable climate temperature, and a flat surface for them to walk on. The gym will be properly maintained so that it has clean equipment and public restrooms, not to mention stores lined up for window shoppers. It is recommended that participants walk either before or during opening hours at the mall.
The Mall Walkers Club welcomes all walkers, whether they prefer to walk in the early morning or later in the day. In fact, the mall has specific walking hours listed as follows: Monday to Saturday from 8:00 am to 9:30 pm.
In addition, there is a meeting schedule for the Mall Walker Monthly with the next one taking place on March 25 at the Smith Haven Mall. Members will have their blood pressure checked and can receive free snacks if they attend the lecture.
