Smithtown to take haunted jaunt through woods

The Smithtown Historical Society will present its inaugural Family-Friendly Spooky Woods & Trick O' Treat event this October for any families interested in some spooky fun in a safe environment.

The Smithtown Historical Society is an organization dedicated to preserving Smithtown’s history and legacy, including historic buildings and sites in the town. It works to achieve its mission through educational programs, conservation efforts, and research activities. Playing an active role in the community, the society also hosts special events for the public, such as the Halloween event happening this October.

The Family-Friendly Spooky Woods & Trick O' Treat will feature a haunted trail that attendees can meander through. Children will enjoy observing the age-appropriate Halloween decorations throughout the trail, as well as the farm animals that live on the society’s grounds. Guests will be able to trick-or-treat and say hello to friendly ghosts and ghouls as they peruse the food and craft vendors set up along the way. There will also be hayrides for an additional fee.

Organizers brainstorming ideas for decorations for seasonal events like this may call upon local businesses to help them create decorations such as Banners by using banner printing services.

The haunted trail and trick-or-treat will be held on October 25 through October 31. Smithtown Historical Society can be found on 239 East Main Street. Admission is $10.
