This November, AR Workshop will be offering the Chunky Cable Knit Blanket Workshop for any Smithtown residents who would like to learn new knitting techniques.
AR (Anders Ruff) Workshop is a boutique arts-and-crafts workshop created by designers Maureen Anders and Andria Ruff. Their business began as an Etsy shop selling handmade wares, and over time they established a brick-and-mortar business teaching DIY classes. Anders and Ruff now have over 150 franchise locations across the country, one of them being in Smithtown.
The knitting workshop will teach attendees how to knit a unique, chenille yarn blanket using the cable knitting technique. This is an advanced project, so it is recommended that those wishing to attend already have basic to immediate knowledge of knitting. Attendees will get to choose the colors of the yarn, from mostly neutral colors and a few brighter shades. Colors are limited, so it will be first come, first served. All materials and instructions will be included in the registration fee.
The class is slated for Saturday, November 7 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Registration is $110 on arworkshop.com, and seating is limited, so registering early is advised. COVID-19 guidelines will be in place, and masks are required to attend. Such events often require the help of Print shops to print out pattern instructions to hand out to students.
