Smithtown summer festival to offer groovy experience

The Freebird Festival will take place on the grounds of Smithtown Historical Society this June, which is a summer festival held in the spirit of the 1960s, complete with groovy hippie vibes and good vibrations.

The Smithtown Historical Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history and historical buildings and artifacts of Smithtown and Long Island. The festival in June is not run by the historical society, but its grounds will be utilized for the festivities.

The festival will focus on celebrating the summer season in a peaceful, easy-going way. There will be over 150 vendors present selling everything from handcrafted arts and crafts to special jewelry and Apparel. There will be a variety of food trucks to feed hungry guests, and live music will be playing throughout the day. Other activities include bell dancing, yoga, a drum circle, tarot card reading, a mechanical bull, face painting, and hair braiding. There will also be hula hooping, vegan vendors, and permanent jewelry vendors.

Vendors participating in festivals will often consider updating their supply of Business Cards so they have an adequate amount to give out during the event.

The Freebird Festival is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 30, beginning at 10:00 am. The Smithtown Historical Society is located at 239 East Main Street, Smithtown.
