Smithtown seniors to learn about Medicare and Medicaid

In October, Smithtown older adults will have the opportunity to attend an info session about Medicare and Medicaid benefits from CPA Aaron Futterman and Senior Health Plan Specialist Gracemarie Horan-Luce.

Futterman is a certified public accountant and expert in elder law and estate planning from the Law Firm of Futterman, Lanza & Pasculli, LLP. Gracemarie Horan-Luce is a licensed representative and CEO of Senior Health Plan Specialists, Inc., an organization that specializes in Medicare, including Advantage Plans, Medicare Supplement, and Medicare Part D. Together, they will host the Medicare and Medicaid Updates session to help seniors make informed decisions about the programs.

Futterman will begin the session by explaining how to navigate wills and trusts, including how to guard against financial exploitation. He will also highlight the importance of having a solid game plan should a crisis occur. In the second segment, Horan-Luce will go over the ins and outs of Medicare and its policies, such as what to expect when new to the programs and how to navigate changes in a policy.

The Medicare and Medicaid session is scheduled for October 23 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The venue will be the Smithtown Library on 1 North Country Road.
