Smithtown ladies should note that Sweetbriar Nature Center will host the Galentine's Hoots and Handmade Pottery for those looking for a unique activity to do with their gal pals for Valentine’s Day.
Sweetbriar Nature Center is a nature preserve and private not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation in Smithtown. It provides native wildlife rehabilitation services, science education classes, and other nature-related activities to the community. The Galentine’s event next month is one such example of the events the center offers.
The event will be a include a meet-and-greet with the resident animal ambassadors at the center, as well as a pottery class taught by Alison from Pottery on Wheels. No experience is necessary to attend the class, and all equipment and supplies will be included for students to make their own sculpture and two wheel pieces thrown by hand. There will also be light snacks and beverages provided. Alison will fire and glaze the pieces produced by the students at her studio, to be ready for pickup after two weeks.
Organizers of educational events like this may choose to advertise online so that their events have more visibility, which may make investing in a team of graphic design artists useful.
The Galentine’s event is scheduled for Friday, February 10 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The nature center is located at 62 Eckernkamp Drive. Tickets are $100.
