The Smithtown Historical Society will open its grounds up to Irish-heritage festivities at the Irish Luck on the Farm event this March, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.
Serving the community since 1955, the Smithtown Historical Society has worked to preserve, conserve, and restore Long Island historic sites and articles for the benefit of the public. These efforts include restoring historic buildings, preserving important documents, and offering educational tours and presentations. The society also organizes and hosts special events, such as holiday and heritage celebrations such as the event happening this March.
The event is meant to celebrate the spirit of the Irish culture and traditions and welcomes all individuals, whether Irish or not, to come out in fellowship and enjoy a day of lively festivities suitable for the whole family. There will be tradition Irish music showcased, featuring bagpipes with lively Irish step-dancing accompanying it. There will also be food and craft vendors, peat fires, a petting zoo, and children’s activities.
