Smithtown festival to showcase Irish heritage

The Smithtown Historical Society will host its annual Irish Luck on the Farm event, a festive that celebrates the Irish heritage of the town, its residents, and its history.

Founded in 1955, the Smithtown Historical Society is tasked with preserving, restoring, and interpreting Long Island’s rich and varied history for the enjoyment and education of the public. It is chartered by the Board of Regents to preserve historical sites, materials, and structures, and to provide educational programs and events to the public to promote interest in the town’s history and legacy.

Aptly occurring in the same month as St. Patrick’s Day, the Irish Luck on the Farm event offers a chance to connect with Smithtown’s Irish roots. Attendees will enjoy stirring performances from Irish step dancers, traditional peat fires, a petting zoo, and a children’s arts, crafts, and games area, as well as traditional Irish food vendors and artisans.

Cultural events such as this will often have educational Brochures to hand out to attendees to provide information about the event’s activities. These can often be printed easily and affordably at local shops specializing in brochure printing.

The Irish festival is scheduled for Saturday, March 9 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. It will be held at 239 East Main Street. General admission is $7 plus taxes and processing fees.
