Smithtown festival to benefit breast cancer center

In August, Smithtown will host the 10th Annual Fight Against Breast Cancer Charity Music Festival for anyone in the area looking for a fun outing benefiting a good cause.

The charity event will be held on behalf of the Stony Brook University Cancer Center, an organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of breast cancer patients through breast cancer programs and services, such as providing multidisciplinary care and participating in innovative research. All proceeds raised will go towards funding the center. Organizers encourage those interested donating or volunteering to contact Swan Olivera at 516-356-1079 or Jeff Comiskey at 631-807-0381. The all-day event will feature bands such as Aqua Cherry, Phil Firetog , Taylor Cooke, and The Big Happy. A special guest yet to be announced will also appear in the line-up. The festival will include raffles and games to win prizes, such as Promotional Products from vendors. Food and refreshments from establishments such as Hurricane Grill & Wings and Del Fuego will also be available for purchase.

The charity music festival is scheduled for Saturday, August 7, beginning at 12:00 pm. It will be held outdoors at the Comiskey Park Bar located at 485 Lake Avenue, Saint James. For more information and updates, those interested can visit the festival organizer’s Facebook page.
