The butterfly vivarium at the Sweetbriar Nature Center will be opening again this year, and the center will celebrate with a festival.
The day will include activities for guests of all ages, special animal appearances, music, and more. There will be a number of special guests, such as author Anne Wheaton reading from her book ‘Piggy and Pug’, and there will be yoga demonstrations by Lisa Iacono held in the historic barn. There will also be a band performing live indie folk music, called The Belle Curves.
There will be educational vendors at the event, as well as nature vendors and handmade crafts. There will be other activities hosted throughout the day, including nature hikes around the property and, of course, the butterfly vivarium. Other animals will also make appearances throughout the day.
The nature center is in Smithtown, and has some parking on site. There are no specific tickets to this event, but there will be a charge of $20 per car, or per family. The funds all go directly back to the nature center.
Many of the vendors may use flyer printing or brochure printing in order to have printed information for people to take home with them. The crafters may also have Business Cards with them. This event is scheduled to take place from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm next Saturday, June 8.
