In August, Smithtown mothers and their little ballerinas will get the chance to take part in the special Mommy and Me Summer Workshop Series from Baby Ballet Long Island.
Baby Ballet Long Island is a dance company that offers state-of-the-art ballet classes developed by Nicola Ciotta, of the Royal Academy of Dance. Typical classes are 30 minutes long, fully structured, and suitable for children from walking age to four years old. Running since July, the summer workshop is part of a special Mommy and Me series designed for children ages 1 to 4 and a half, and allows mothers to accompany their children as they learn foundational dance skills.
The workshops will start with a warmup and then move on to story time and craft time. Afterwards, the young ballet dancers will get to dress up and learn a simple routine based on world-renowned ballets such as Swan Lake and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Organizers often choose to advertise children’s workshops on colorful Flyers that can be distributed at local libraries or schools. To prepare these Flyers in bulk, event organizers may call upon businesses offering flyer printing.
The workshop series will run from August 2 to August 30, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am. Baby Ballet Long Island has various locations, with the Smithtown location at 1029 W Jericho Turnpike. Registration is $125.
