Next month, the Smithtown Historical Society will host a yoga with goats event in collaboration with The Buddha Barn, and Steppin’ Out Ponies and Petting Zoo.
The Smithtown Historical Society’s mission is to preserve Long Island's heritage and to offer the public educational and community-enriching activities, such as this. The organization has partnered up with Bellmore-based yoga studio The Buddha Barn and the traveling Steppin’ Out Ponies and Petting Zoo to provide a meditative event with a difference.
The yoga session will take place in a field behind the Smithtown Historical Society’s Brush Barn, and will be led by instructor Kelly Mitchell from The Buddha Barn. Steppin’ Out Ponies and Petting Zoo will provide several friendly goats that participants can interact with as they stretch. Organizers ask the attendees prepare for the event by bringing a towel, yoga mat, and bottle of water. All levels of experience will be welcomed.
The event is slated for Monday, April 12, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Tickets are $28, and children ages 7 to 16 are welcomed if they are accompanied by an adult. The Smithtown Historical Society is located at 211 East Main Street.
