First Fairway Market opens in Suffolk County

A Fairway Market has launched in Lake Grove, near Smithtown, marking a first for Suffolk County.

The opening ceremonies included a ribbon cutting, attended by State Senator John Flanagan, Assemblyman Michael Fitzpatrick, Fairway Market’s executive chairman Charles Santoro, and Lake Grove Mayor Robert Scottaline. The doors to the centre opened shortly after the cutting of the ribbon.

Many companies, when conducting public opening ceremonies, choose to invest in banner printing.

The new location covers 53,000 square feet and is located on 3200 Middle Country Road in DSW Plaza. According to Santoro, the company is excited to make its newest home in Suffolk County, and feels that the market can offer locals an array of specialty and traditional groceries and foods. He also stated that the location within DSW Plaza is ideal.

Other stores in the Plaza – located across the street from Smith Haven Mall – include Designer Shoe Warehouse, Babies R Us, and Toys R Us.

Santoro also stated on Fairway’s website that the new location will create about 400 jobs, including the general manager position, which will be held by Charles Schiro – a man with over 40 years of experience within the food industry, who earned his MBA with Hofstra University.

Schrio states on the company website that he hopes to help every customer who enters the store.
