Once again, the Department Restoration Committee of the Smithtown Fire Department is holding a chicken barbecue dinner as a fundraiser.
This will be the third such event and the money will be used to finalize the restoration of the department’s 1935 Mack Ladder Truck. Returning the historic firetruck’s to its former glory has been the Department Restoration Committee’s sole responsibility. The Committee has been accomplishing its task without spending any of the Smithtown Fire Department’s funds or that of the Fire District.
The project has been entirely funded by the individual firefighters, fundraisers and the public. Much of the success of a fundraising event depends on the graphic design employed by the poster printing service, as well as where the Posters are displayed.
The Chicken Barbecue will be held at the fire department’s River Property located in Smithtown on the Nissequogue River on Saturday, August 6. The menu will consist of barbecued chicken, salad, and corn on the cob, as well as hamburgers, hot dogs, soda, beer, and wine. Doors will open at 4:00 pm with line dancing commencing at 5:00 pm. Music will be supplied from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm by South Bound.
Advance ticket are $30 and are available through July 25. Ticket purchased at the door are $35. There will be no charge for children under 12.
