Next month, the Smithtown Historical Society will hold the Garden Party Luncheon to raise money for the society's farm program.
The Smithtown Historical Society was founded in 1955 to preserve the historic sites and buildings that are integral to Long Island’s heritage. It works to promote educational outreach, research, and community activities that seek to promote interest in the history of the area. The society also contains a working farm with animals on its grounds, with tours often given to the public that educate people about what farming activities were like in the town’s past.
The luncheon will be held to raise money for the society’s farm program, and proceeds raised from ticket sales will go towards providing veterinary care, feed, and ground maintenance required to keep the farm running efficiently. Attendees will enjoy an elegant luncheon on the farm’s beautiful grounds and will even have a chance to win $5,000 from a raffle if 250 tickets are sold.
