Campaign Strategy & Consulting will host the Public Speaking, Media Training, Communications Workshop next month for any Smithtown and Hauppauge area professionals looking to improve their skills.
Campaign Strategy & Consulting is a political consulting firm based in Smithtown that also provides leadership training for people working in various industries, including politics, business, education, and marketing. The April workshop will help participants refine their public speaking skills while also building self-confidence in their projected persona.
The three-hour program will provide interactive activities in which attendees will learn to analyze their strengths and weaknesses as a presenter. Participants will learn effective techniques on how to connect to listeners as they share information, influence emotions, and argue for change. Attendees will glean insight from fellow students as they give demonstrations of their own public speaking styles. It will also address the issues of performance anxiety and other distractions that may limit presentation effectiveness.
The goal of the workshop is to create a self-training process using focused exercises, self-analysis, self-video, and rubric assessments to further improvement after the class.
