A recent decision was made by Chanticleer Holdings to change the name of American Roadside Burgers to American Burger Co. at its Charlotte locations, with one notable exception.
Signage was changed at the South Carolina locations in late April, probably necessitating a trip to a local printing company. Before it became a permanent move, the name change, as well as an updated menu, was implemented at both the SouthPark and Ally Center locations. After success there, the change spread out to the Charlotte locations.
Pruitt reports that the other two South Carolina locations, in Greenville and Columbia, are likely to see these updates soon, but that Smithtown is the home of American Roadside Burgers, so the name is unlikely to change there.
When asked why the name was changed, Pruitt said:
“You want people immediately, when they read your sign, to know exactly what you do.”
The American Burger Co name was acquired by Chanticleer in a stock deal last year. The investment company is also a stakeholder in other chain restaurants, including Just Fresh, which is also based in Charlotte, and Hooters.
The Smithtown location is at 80 East Main Street, and is open seven days a week. For hours, visit the company’s website, or give the location a call.
