The 3rd annual Long Island Gala is taking place next month in Smithtown, and is a fundraiser for Friends of Karen.
The evening event is expected to be filled with cocktails, food, live entertainment, and dancing. Attendees can also pose for photographs or walk through the Winter Wonderland at Stonebridge Country Club.
During the evening, several local people will be honored for their contributions to the charity and the community itself. This year's honorees are Richard Panico from Symbio, Debbie Beck, who will receive the Sheila W. Petersen Award, and John and Janet Kornreich who will be given the Friends of Karen Humanitarian Award.
Sponsorships are also available for local businesses and individuals. Prices range from $1,000 to $5,000. All sponsors will be recognized on signage at the event and be given tickets to attend.
Friends of Karen has been in operation since 1978 and has helped more than 5,500 children living with cancer. The organization helps to provide emotional and financial support to families while also advocating for their cause.
