Annual charity golf outing planned for Smithtown

This July, The Michael Piegare Foundation will host its 10th Annual “Putting for Piegare” Golf outing, a charity event in honor of the memory of Michael Piegare. It will raise money for young student athletes.

Founded in 2009, The Michael Piegare Foundation honors the life of Michael Pieagare, a young man who died in an automobile accident in 2008. As Michael was a dedicated young collegiate player, the foundation hosts charity events in his honor to raise money for young student athletes. The “Putting for Piegare” Golf Outing will celebrate its 10th year of fundraising.

The golf outing will follow the four-person scramble format where there are four people to a team and all team members collectively contribute to the overall score rather than having individual scoring. Tickets include golfing equipment, golf cart, and beverages such as water, beer, and soda. The tickets also include a cocktail reception and dinner with an open bar.

After the competition, the top three teams will receive awards, and prizes will be given in the categories of longest drive and closet to pins. Sponsoring businesses often use similar fundraising events as opportunities to hand out Promotional Products and strengthen community ties.

The golf outing is scheduled for July 12 at the Smithtown Landing Country Club. To register, visit the The Michael Piegare Foundation’s website.
