Next month, the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce will hold the 14th annual SOUPer Bowl for any Port Washington residents wanting a fun, tasty way to ward off the winter blues.
This is an annual soup tasting event and contest that in previous years had been held as an inside festival where guests would have the opportunity to sample various soups from local restaurants and then vote on their favorites. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event has been modified so that patrons can pick up to-go soup samples to taste them from the safety of their own home.
The Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church will serve as the soup pick-up location. Residents will be able to purchase reusable tote Bags containing at least 10 six-ounce soup containers donated from different restaurants. These bags may also provide a good advertising opportunity for participating businesses to include Business Cards with the soup package.
After tasting the soups at home, residents will then be able to vote online on their favorites. One overall winner will be announced, as well as a Kids’ Choice Award, which will be decided by tasters 12 and under.
The SOUPer Bowl is slated for Saturday, February 6, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The soup tote bags will cost $30. For more information, visit the organizer’s website.
