Enjoying a glass of wine with their meal can be one of life’s simple pleasures, but some may not know how to choose the variety that is the best match for both the food they are eating and their own individual palate. A Port Washington area evening will help to take some of the mystery out of choosing a wine pairing, and it will encourage the participants to think outside the box.
This wine tasting class will be an interactive experience that will encourage the attendees to explore their own individual preferences. The planners noted that it will break some of the traditional rules for food and wine pairings, and the class will be led by a Master of Wine.
The evening will include sampling of four wines, each paired with a selected dish. This will give the participants a chance to see how the flavors complement one another. Next, it will be time for the full meal, which will be followed by dessert, and the guests will each have a chance to put their new pairing skills to the test by choosing their own wine selection.
The menu for the function includes a full dinner and dessert, and a vegetarian option will be available. Leaflets that provide further details about each of the wines that will be poured can be supplied for an event like this by a brochure printing company, and the participants can keep them for future use.
This introduction to the world of wine pairing will be held on February 8 at 600 Garden City Plaza. It is reserved for those who are age 21 and up.
