Port Washington to host magical history walk

In early July, the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society will host its Magical History Tours of the Manhasset Bay to introduce locals and tourists alike to the history of the area.

The Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society focuses on preserving the history of Port Washington by educating the public on the lives and livelihoods of the early inhabitants, as well as by preserving historical structures such as the Thomas Dodge Homestead and the Sands Willets House. The Magical History Tour belongs to a series of tours dedicated to providing in-depth walking tours along the Manhasset Bay.

The walking tour will begin at the red tugboat at the Town Deck where participants will meet their knowledgeable tour guide. The guide will take the group along the Manhasset Bay, passing through Sunset Park, and nearby Baxter Pond Park and Mill Pond Park. Topics such as tidal mills, sand mining, shell fishing, and the local hospitality industry will be discussed, bringing to life a vibrant picture of how the early Port Washington residents worked and lived.
Flyer printing is often helpful in advertising for tour events like this as organizers can hang easily Print and hang them up along city walkways.

The Magical History Tour of Manhasset Bay is scheduled for July 3, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. Admission is free, although donations are welcomed.
