The Sand Point Preserve Conservatory is hosting the Isadora Duncan & Contemporary Work performance by Dance Visions NY. Port Washington residents can pick up T-Shirts or Bags with Logo Design to support this local dance company at the event.
Dance Visions NY is currently choreographed by Beth Jucovy. This specific performance will celebrate the work of the late choreographer, Isadora Duncan. Duncan's dances, aesthetics, and technique were formed in the late 20th Century, the time when the Guggenheim Estate, also known as the Sand Point Preserve, was formed.
As the performance will take place on this estate, the choreography and surroundings both complement each other and provide a reflection of this historical time. The performance consists of 16 dancers and will be a combination of Duncan's work and site-specific, contemporary works from the Hempstead House.
The Isadora Duncan & Contemporary work presented by Dance Visions NY will take place on Saturday, July 25, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The event will be taking place outdoors in the Rose Gardens of the Hempstead House. The entrance to the Hempstead House can be found on Middle Neck Rd, cross street from Hamilton Dr.
Admission for members of the Sand Point Preserve Conservatory is free. More information on membership benefits and fees can be found on their website. For nonmembers, the event is free with admission to the preserve, but there will be a parking fee of $15 per car. Payment is accepted at the Gatehouse.
