Port Washington spices up autumn

Port Washington residents can attend the Village Day Fall Festival held just in time for residents to get into the fall spirit. At the Green Grocer section of the festival, attendees are welcomed to pick up artisan cheese and fresh vegetables.

Flyer printing is one way that suppliers anywhere can show how local products such as cheeses are made.

In addition to the Green Grocer, younger guests may also partake in a variety of activities. This includes a petting zoo, hayrides, pony rides, and pumpkin painting. The hayrides will take place around the main area of the festival, while the pony rides will be overlooking Long Island Sound.

The Village Day Fall Festival takes place on the Great Lawns at the Sands Point Preserve Conservancy on Sunday, October 4 from 12 pm — 4 pm. The rain date for the event is Sunday, October 11. To access the entrance to the on-site parking, enter at 127 Middle Neck Road, Sands Point, New York 11050. The Sands Point Preserve Conservancy is easily accessible by residents of Port Washington and the greater New York area.

The site does not list admission for the festival, but there is a parking fee. The fee for members of the Sands Point Preserve Conservancy is $15 per car, while the fee for non-members is $25 per car. More information can be found on the official website on how to become a member as well as details of the event.
