The Port Washington/Manhasset chapter of Cancer Care is putting the finishing touches on its annual benefit for cancer awareness.
The Tonight Show Starring the Red Stocking Review is a variety program featuring local talent from all over the Port Washington area.
The group began putting the show together at the end of January. Auditions were held, and the director combined the most talented applicants into one large, eclectic event. Vocalists will perform solos and duets, dancers will show off their moves, and comedians will act out sketches and showcase their standup skills.
Everything is being put together in the name of cancer patients and their families. Cancer Care is one of the largest nonprofits that provide support for people dealing with cancer and their relations. The Red Stocking Review is one of their biggest fundraising efforts. A great deal of the money they make does not come from ticket sales, but from booklet printing of the Red Stocking Review Journal, which has space for companies to place advertisements.
The show will be performed from April 14 to 17 at 8:00 pm and April 18 at 2:00 pm at the Schreiber High School Auditorium. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children and seniors and are available for preorder. Anyone interested in more information should visit the website.
