Port Washington prepares for piano playing

The residents of the Port Washington area are gearing up for the latest in a long running free concert series. Afternoon T.E.A.: Piano Classics with Maria Kogan offers an afternoon of entertainment with some of the finest piano music around.

The concert will be performed by Maria Kogan, a Port Washington native and high school junior who is also an accomplished pianist. She will be playing classics from composers such as Beethoven, Debussy, Chopin, and others. After the concert is over, light refreshments will be served and visitors will have chance to talk with Ms. Kogan about the pieces she chose.

The performance is the latest part of the Afternoon T.E.A. program, where the acronym stands for Theatre, Entertainment, and Arts. The program offers concerts, performances, discussions, and movies two or three times a month. Due to donations and support from The Manhasset Community Fund, the ‘Good Neighbor’ Fund, the Greentree Foundation, the New York Community Bank Foundation, and others, Afternoon T.E.A. is offered at no cost to the community.

Piano Classics with Maria Kogan will take place on June 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Landmark on Main St. located at 232 Main St. Suite 1 in Port Washington. Admission is free to the public. Anyone interested in attending should check the Flyers or visit the website for more info.
