Next month, the annual Spotlight Gala will be held at Landmark on Main Street to celebrate the year’s accomplishments and honor special guests in the Port Washington community.
Landmark on Main Street is a non-profit community and performing arts center that grew out of efforts to preserve the historic Main Street School. The Landmark opened in 1995 after being converted from a former school to a mixed-use concept featuring affordable senior housing, a two-acre Town Park, a community center, and a theater.
The Spotlight Gala is Landmark’s main event of the year, with this year’s gala even more special considering it had been on hold since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The gala will feature an elegant dinner at the Manhasset Bay Yacht Club, after which a cocktail event and show will follow at the Jeanne Rimsky Theater. The Robert Cray Band, a Grammy-winning act, will be performing. The 2022 honorees – Jonathan Haas, M.D., Yasuko Yamaguchi, and the North Shore Animal League America – will be spotlighted.

The gala is scheduled for Saturday, November 19. Manhasset Bay Yacht Club is located at 455 Main Street, and the Jeanne Rimsky Theater is located at 232 Main Street #1. Individual tickets are $300.
