Port Washington fundraising ride to help kids in need

Kids battling cancer have a tough path to follow, and their diagnosis can affect the whole family. Port Washington’s community of motorcycle enthusiasts can make a difference in their lives, and all they have to do is register for, and ride in, an upcoming event.

The WBAB Cold Finger Run will give children with cancer, along with their siblings, a chance to enjoy just being a kid, as the proceeds will be donated to MoRE Camp Adventure. This sleepaway style camp is free, and is held on Shelter Island.

The motorcycle ride will open with registration starting at 10:00 am, and kickstands will be going up at 12:00 noon. After the run, the group will be welcome to stop by Patchogue’s Stereo Garden for an after-party that will feature live music, free food and prize draws. This portion of the day is open to all, whether they ride a motorcycle or not.

The registration fee for the run is $20 for both riders and passengers, and the entry fee for those who only wish to attend the after-party is $10. Logo Design and other marketing services for an event like this can be provided by an area printer.

Local motorcyclists are invited to dress warmly and wear their gloves for this winter ride, which will be held on January 6. The riders are asked to meet at the Cradle of Aviation Museum to register for the occasion.
