Port Washington fest to present HEARTS in the Park

After returning in a new form last year, a long-running Port Washington summer festival will be back this May.

HEARTS in the Park: A PortFest Event is a revival of the classic PortFest gathering hosted by the Hearts PW charitable organization. There will be a number of music and dance performances by artists from Long Island and beyond. Local visual artists and crafters will also take part in the Artisan Village, with gift items and rare creations available. Artisans at events like this often offer special Promotional Products and sales to help celebrate the occasion.

The festival will also feature local food trucks and stalls. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic chairs or blankets and stretch out on the lawn. The PortFest event was held for over 10 years before being renamed to reflect a new approach and bigger scope, as well as a new location in Sunset Park. The debut event under the new name last year included performances from Port Washington School ensembles, Bach 2 Rock, and the Berest Dance Center. Eric Gerwitz, HEARTS PW board president explained the goals of the festival:

“The priority is to really showcase the creative spirit of our community and give a platform for the arts, both performance, visual and any other kinds of arts”

The 2025 HEARTS in the Park event will take place at the Sousa Bandshell in Sunset Park in Port Washington on May 17.
