Just off the coast of Long Island Sound, there is a lighthouse that has protected ships for many years. An excursion that will explore this privately owned historic building will be departing from the Town Dock in Port Washington, and it will give area history buffs a chance to learn more about this local landmark.
The couple that owns Execution Rocks Lighthouse has granted the New York Adventure Club access to the structure, which was built back in the 1850s. The assembled group will travel by boat, and with sparkling wine served on the return trip, the occasion will offer the feel of a mini-holiday for everyone who takes part.
Tickets for the excursion start at $95 each, and this includes the boat trip to the lighthouse. While they are on the water, the participants will learn about its history and be regaled by stories of its past. Upon arrival, they will be welcome to explore the quarters that were occupied by the lighthouse keeper and the rest of the building as well, and they will do this on their own.
On the trip back, they can relax with their drink and talk about their experience, all while making new friends who share their interest in area history. Stationery printers will be able to supply printed waiver Forms, Letterheads, and other business materials for this sort of function.
This trip to Execution Rocks Lighthouse will depart from Port Washington;s Town Dock at 12:30 pm on June 23. Only those who are age 13 or over will be permitted to participate.
