Port Washington dresses up for a good cause

Port Washington residents can attend the annual White Party at the Sands Point Preserve next month.

The event includes a cocktail, dinner, and dessert section, featuring a farm-to-table feast and white chocolate s' mores. Brochure printing often supports such events, and while at the Sands Point Preserve, guests can pick up a brochure of related summer events on Sands Point Preserve.

The White Party is a benefit for educational programs. This year, the event is specifically celebrating the 100th year of Women's Suffrage and the Nineteenth Amendment. The promoted educational programs this year are the Family Nature Programs, Adult Nature Programs, Programs for Individuals with Special Needs, and After-School Programs for Pre-school - 5th Grade.

The White Party will take place at the Sands Point Preserve on Thursday, August 13, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Tickets are $140 per person. To purchase a ticket, call 516–304–5076. To support the Education Programming fund, people can also take out an ad in the event Journal. A full-page is $500, half a page is $250, and a quarter-page is $150.

The entrance to the park is at 127 Middle Neck Road. Once the guests have entered the gatehouse, plenty of central parking will be available. More information can be found on the event page as well as Sands Point Preserve Conservancy's official website.
