Port Washington businesses to present holiday magic

The Port Washington Business Improvement District will be holding its Port Holiday Magic event across three weekends this holiday season, aiming to provide a sense of holiday cheer while promoting local small businesses.

The season will begin with Small Business Saturday, featuring special treats and deals from participating businesses. The day will also see Santa Claus and singing Toy Soldiers make appearances on Main Street. The second week, called Port Holiday Giving Magic, is new this year and will bring together local charity and non-profit organizations in a single location. Visitors are encouraged to bring new and unwrapped toys for donation as part of the “Stuff the Bus” campaign, as well as items for the “Make a Child Smile Toy, Food and Diaper Drive.”

The festival will conclude with Port Holiday Window Magic, where businesses decorate their windows with displays designed to embrace the festive spirit. There will be awards for the best painted and best decorated displays, with visitors able to ride a trolley and participate in a special sing-along. All events will be organized through the Try Port First app. Cities and towns of all sizes often feature festive downtown displays and events, often using banner printing and holiday music to help create a memorable atmosphere.

Port Holiday Magic will run on November 30, December 7, and December 14, with events taking place at businesses throughout Port Washington.
