Residents in Port Washington are prepping their tastebuds for the Port Washington SOUPer BOWL 2017. The event is a head to head competition to find the best soup in the Long Island area.
Every major restaurant in the Port Washington area will be competing. Each entrant will provide one soup for consideration. A ticket includes a custom spoon which visitors can then use to taste each soup and then vote for their favorites. A panel of judges will also taste every entry. At the end of the competition, two prizes will be awarded: one for the judges’ favorite and one for the people’s favorite.
The contest is about bragging rights more than anything else. Included in the prize is a special graphic design that can be included with any marketing the materials the restaurant is using, declaring their soup the best for 2017. Additionally it is considered a great way for restaurants to get their names out there, network with other business owners, and meet their potential customers.
The Port Washington SOUPer BOWL will be held on February 4 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, located at 100 Fairway Dr. Admission costs $7 for adults or $3 for children under 12. Anyone interested in more info should contact the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce.
