Port Washington area class to offer Reiki training

The Center for Wellness and Integrative Medicine will hold the Reiki I Training Certification next month in Roslyn near Port Washington for those interested in becoming certified.

The Center for Wellness and Integrative Medicine is a part of the Northwell Health medical system that offers its patients conventional medicine while also offering a range of alternative therapies and medicine to complement that care. Reiki is a Japanese healing modality that can help individuals reduce stress and improve well-being in conjunction with more traditional healing methods.

The Reiki I Training will introduce the history, principles, and degrees of Reiki. In particular, the class will focus on the traditional Usui Reiki based on Mikao Usui’s teachings. Students will learn how to practice both self-Reiki and practice it on other people. There will be four Reiki attunements that participants will receive to open themselves up to Reiki energy and its applications. Students will also receive a certificate of participation at the end.

Course certificates of participation are often in printed form, which may require organizers of such events to require the printing services of local businesses.

The Reiki workshop is scheduled for January 20 from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. It will be held at The Center for Wellness and Integrative Medicine, located at 1500 Old Northern Boulevard, 2nd Floor. The class fee is $195.
