Port Washington area activity to give bullies the boot

Port Washington has been issued an invitation to an event that will see members of the public take a stand against bullying while offering them lots of prizes and other activities.

This year will be the fourth for the Annual Walk Against Bullying, which will be held in Glen Cove’s Morgan Memorial Park. It is being brought to the area through the efforts of The Glen Cove PTSA, The BullyProof Project, and The Glen Cove Youth Bureau.

The participants in the walk will gather in the park before heading out, and the route will wind its way along the North Shore beaches. The whole family is encouraged to come out, and all levels of ability, including those who need an assistive device, are welcome. Along with the walking, there will be a dance contest, raffle draws and lots of time for the crowd to mingle. Those who participate may qualify for community service hours, and donations to the cause will be most appreciated.

The event has been scheduled to run for three hours, and it will be kicking off at 10:00 am. Custom attire, such as volunteer T-Shirts, sunglasses, hats and other clothing can be prepared by a local printing services provider for an occasion like this.

October 14 has been set as the date for this community-based activity. It is free to participate.
